Before you start: We recommend styling your hair like it will beunder the wig. For long hair, braid flat in cornrowsor beehive braids. For short hair, you may wrap it flat. This willeliminate bulges that distort head contours.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that your measurements are ACCURATE. If you do not measureproperly, your wig may not fit. So take your measurements at least 2-3times to be sure. Use a soft measure tape tomeasure. We take measurements in whole and half inches. So pleaseround your measurements up not down. Example: 12 3/4 should be rounded upto 13 and 12 1/4 should be rounded up to 12 1/2.
Special Note: If you are bald or do not have a hair line - you do not need to addthe inch - simply put the tape measure where you would like your hairline tobegin with the wig.
The averagesbelow are just to give you an example. Not everyone will meet thesemeasurements - some may be under or over and that is perfectly fine.
1. The Circumference of the Head:
Measure all around the head. Position tape measure so its edge follows the hair line around the head and nape of the neck. (Example Measurement: 22 inches).
2. From Forehead to Nape of Neck:
Measure from hairline at center of forehead straight back over crown to center of hairline at nape of neck. Note: Place the tape measure at your hairline in the front of forehead while taking the measure to the hairline at the back of your Nape (neck). Keeping in mind that your cap is glued to the outside perimeter of your natural hairline on your skin. (Example Measurement: 14 inches). Then ADD 1 inch to the measurement results. This is VERY IMPORTANT. If you do not add the inch, your wig will be too small and will not be able to be glued in front of your hairline.
3. Ear to Ear Across Front Hairline:
At front of ear, measure from hairline at base of sideburn, up across the hair line along forehead to same point in front of other ear. (Example Measurement: 12 inches).
4. From Ear to Ear Over Top of Head:
Measure from hairline directly above the ear across top of head to the hairline directly above the other ear. (Example Measurement: 13 inches).
5. Point to Point:
From temple to temple across the back of head. (Example Measurement: 14 inches). Note: Place the tape measure at your temple to temple point on each side of your head as shown in the picture. Keeping in mind that your cap is glued to the outside perimeter of your natural hairline in this area as well. Then ADD 1 inch to the measurement results. This is VERY IMPORTANT. If you do not add the inch, your wig will be too small and will not be able to be glued in front of your hairline.
6. Nape of Neck:
Measure the width of hairline across the nape of the neck. (Example Measurement: 5 1/2 inches).
